Before Owly existed, we were freelancers ourselves. We sent proposals over email, tracked leads in spreadsheets, followed up on invoices over WhatsApp, and tried to stitch together five different tools that never quite talked to each other.
Every tool we tried was made for someone in San Francisco — not for a designer in Pune, a photographer in Chennai, or a developer in Hyderabad. GST invoicing was an afterthought. Rupee formatting didn't exist. Payment gateways required workarounds.
So in 2022 we stopped looking and started building. Owly was designed from the ground up for Indian service businesses: GST-ready invoices, UPI payments, Indian client workflows, and a single workspace that replaces the juggle.
